Leo Lawson is a Capital Manager, currently working with Gwa'Sala Nakwaxda'xw First Nation and other communities to address their housing and community infrastructure needs. A strong advocate of project and construction management, Leo's career has focused on building local capacity in First Nation communities utilizing this approach. Aside from being a Project and Construction Manager, he has worked with on-reserve housing in various capacities, including Carpentry, Maintenance Supervisor, Building Inspector and a Consultant. Leo is a member of the Heiltsuk First Nation on the central coast of BC; and enjoys fishing for salmon, boasting his prize catch weighing 63 pounds. He loves to brag about his smoked salmon, Indian candy and canned smoked salmon; a skill set he acquired along his life's journey with his best friend - a white man.
